2018 Jessica Henderson Spirit Award
Nomination Form

CRITERIA:

Jessica Henderson lost her battle with bipolar disorder at the age of twenty-one. In her honor, Jessica’s parents established a lecture series with assistance from NAMI Rochester. Each year the Jessica Henderson Event strives to offer hope to all people affected by mental illness, increase community awareness, and erase stigma.

The Jessica Henderson Spirit Award honors a person within the Greater Rochester area whose contributions have enhanced the lives of individuals with mental illness, their families, and their communities. Jessica is remembered for her enthusiasm and joy, her kindness and the high regard that she held for others. Jessica’s life was enriched by the arts as she herself was an artist and performer.

NAMI Rochester and the Henderson Event Committee invite nominations from organizations, groups and/or individuals of an individual that exemplifies the spirit of Jessica Henderson and who actively promotes the mission of mental health, advocates for the rights of those affected by mental illness and works for the elimination of the stigma that degrades those with a mental illness diagnosis and has made and continues to make a personal commitment of time, talent and resource to insure help, hope and a path to recovery are offered to all who seek it.
