NAMI Rochester is MOVING!

Check out our new office and our amazing staff!

NAMI Rochester has moved, but only next door! As of April 15th, we are located at 344 N. Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14607. Our telephone number remains the same: 585-423-1593.

The new office best meets the needs of everyone we serve.  We now have the ability to welcome everyone appropriately, and have large, medium, and small conference rooms to better meet the needs of our support groups and education programs. Currently, we are already hosting an eight-week NAMI Family-to-Family education program and an eight-week Coping Skills program, in addition to NAMI Connection Peer Support Group meetings, Peer Social Activities, Suicide Bereavement Support Groups, and other meetings.

Members of the NAMI Rochester Team are:

Selvenia – Receptionist Extraordinaire who we’ve heard can sing beautifully to keep the office humming along.

Lyanne – Interim NAMIWalks Manager and Events Manager,  who is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Really!

Beth – Director of NAMI Programs and Training – if there is something Beth can’t do, we haven’t found it yet, and she does it with a smile!

Judy – Judy, Judy, Judy is somehow always in the right place, at the right time, with the right response, and going above and beyond for all of us.  I’ve heard she also has several aliases, hmm, maybe she will share a story about that in a news letter! Stay tuned!

Lynne – Helpline Manager who mainly assists with training and programs, is ready to help anyone with anything that needs to be done with kindness and compassion.

Andrea and Val – two additional long time NAMI volunteers, who have been with us for many years. Their dedication and loyalty to NAMI Rochester, the individuals we serve, the staff, and everyone they encounter is remarkable. Notice I mentioned them together- it’s because you rarely see one without the other! They are an example of two people who met at NAMI and have become life-long best friends.

Miss Mia – part of the NAMI office emotional support Team is Miss Mia, my 12lb. Yorkshire Terrier who on most days can be found searching for who has the best treat for her. The best part of Mia’s day is greeting everyone who comes through the door, and if they are not smiling when they enter, they are smiling by the time they leave.

Donna – Executive Director, CEO. Little did I know that when I returned to Rochester after five years in FL, I would come full circle and return not only to my home with family and friends, but my home with NAMI Rochester. It is a privilege for me to lead the organization that I love and get to “work” for with my extraordinary Team every day. My hope is to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families dealing with mental illness, one day at a time. Thank you for your continued support to make this a better world for everyone touched by mental illness, and a special thank you to my board of directors, staff and volunteers!
